Family Share Participation Fee
Family Share is a monthly participation fee.
Family Share Fees are determined by a sliding fee scale that is based
on the federal poverty guidelines. The fee is determined by the family
size and family income. The sliding fee scale ranges from $0 to $100 a
month. You will be billed after your first full month of service. The
fee is based on your income, not the number of early intervention
services your child receives.
You will complete a Family Cost Participation form
that gives First Steps your income information before or at your first
service visit. If you decline to provide your income information, you
will be billed the highest amount on the sliding fee scale. It is
important that every family contributes their share to cover the cost
of services. Provisions exist to revise or suspend Family Share when
certain financial hardships occur such as loss of a job or significant
medical expenses for your child. If the Family Share bill is not paid
within 90 days, early intervention services will stop until the bill is
paid in full or a plan of payment is approved.
